Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Simone Biles gal. Folks keep jabberin’ on ’bout her, and I figured I’d chime in too, ya know?
Simone Biles, that gymnast girl, she’s a strong one, I tell ya. Heard she’s got medals, like a whole bunch of ’em, from them Olympics. Seven, they say! That’s more shiny things than I got pots and pans in my kitchen, and that’s sayin’ somethin’. Guess she’s pretty good at flippin’ and twirlin’ and all that gymnast stuff. I reckon it takes a lot of gumption to do what she does. Not like us old folks, creakin’ and groanin’ just gettin’ outta bed in the mornin’.
Now, they’re showin’ pictures of her everywhere. Some folks are callin’ ’em “nude” pictures, but from what I seen, it ain’t nothin’ scandalous. She’s wearin’ swimsuits mostly, the kind them young’uns wear to the beach these days. Back in my day, swimsuits covered a whole lot more, let me tell ya. But times change, I guess. She’s a pretty girl, that Simone, all muscles and whatnot. Looks strong as an ox, like she could haul hay all day long and not break a sweat.
This magazine, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, they’re the ones takin’ these pictures. They went all the way down to some place called Puerto Vallarta to take ’em. Fancy, huh? And another time, they took pictures in Houston. That’s closer to home. She’s wearin’ all kinds of swimsuits, showin’ off her “Olympic Goddess body” they say. Well, I ain’t never seen no goddess, but I reckon she looks fit as a fiddle.
Folks are makin’ a big fuss over these pictures, but I don’t see what the big deal is. She’s just a young woman, showin’ off what the good Lord gave her. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, as far as I can see. Seems like folks got too much time on their hands, always lookin’ for somethin’ to gossip about. They even talkin’ about some video, but I ain’t seen it, and I ain’t lookin’ for it neither. My eyes are too old for that kind of stuff.

- Ten times world champion, they say. That’s a lot of winnin’.
- I reckon she worked hard for it, didn’t just fall off a turnip truck and land in the Olympics.
She’s 24 years old, just a young’un. But she’s been through a lot, I heard. Pressure, they call it. Everybody expectin’ her to be perfect all the time. That’s a heavy load to carry, even for a strong gal like her. I hope she’s got good folks around her, keepin’ her grounded and remindin’ her she’s just a human bein’. Medals and fancy pictures, they ain’t everything, ya know?
They took a bunch of pictures of her, must be hundreds. And folks keep clickin’ and lookin’ and talkin’. Well, let ’em talk. Simone Biles, she’ll just keep on flippin’ and twirlin’ and doin’ her thing. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? She’s a strong one, that girl. I admire her grit. Reminds me of the folks I grew up with, always workin’ hard and never givin’ up.
And that’s about all I got to say about Simone Biles. She seems like a nice enough girl, and I wish her all the best. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. They’re probably squawkin’ up a storm, hungry for their supper.
