Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this here… uh… Bengaluru and Kerala Blasters thingy. It’s like a… a football match, y’know? Like them fellas kickin’ a ball around.
Bengaluru versus Kerala Blasters, that’s the name, I think. They played on… uh… December 7th, 2024, yeah, that’s what they told me. Started at 2 in the afternoon. Don’t ask me why they play so early, these young folks got their own ways.
So, this BBC Sport fella, he was yappin’ about it. Said they was gonna kick that ball and run around. And they did! Lots of runnin’, lots of kickin’. I didn’t see it myself, mind you, but my grandson, he was glued to that telly. Screamin’ and yellin’ like a rooster with its tail feathers on fire.
Then there was this other time, I reckon it was in 2023 or 2024. Can’t keep track of all these years, they fly by faster than a startled chicken. Anyways, Bengaluru won that one. One to nothin’. Beat them Kerala fellas. My grandson, he was happy then. Jumpin’ up and down like a grasshopper.
They got these fellas, Vairamuthu, Sankar, and Mondal, they talk about the match, I guess. And there was this other game, Odisha played Bengaluru in Bhubaneswar. Lots of pictures, they said. I ain’t seen ’em, but my grandson, he showed me a few. Just a bunch of blurry fellas runnin’ around, if you ask me. But he seemed excited, so I nodded and said, “Uh-huh, that’s nice, dear.”
There was another match, Kerala Blasters against Bengaluru, in Kochi. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, they called it. Sounded fancy. My grandson said they had some highlights, you know, the best parts of the game. He showed me some, but it was too fast for my old eyes. Too much zoomin’ and shakin’. Made me dizzy just lookin’ at it.
Then there’s this fella, Jorge Pereyra Diaz. He plays for Bengaluru, I think. And he scored a goal in the last minute, the 95th minute they said! Beat those Kerala fellas in somethin’ called the Durand Cup. My grandson was real happy about that one. Said it was a big deal.
But then, them Kerala fellas lost again. One to three. This time, some fellas named Pritam Kotal and Som Kumar, they messed up, I guess. And this other fella, Edgar Mendez, he scored two goals for Bengaluru. My grandson was grumbling about that one. Said it wasn’t fair.
And these two teams, Kerala Blasters and Chennaiyin, they don’t like each other much. They call it a rivalry. Like them Hatfields and McCoys, I reckon. Always fightin’ and fussin’. Don’t understand it myself. Why can’t they just get along?
- So, yeah, that’s the gist of it. Bengaluru versus Kerala Blasters. Football. Runnin’. Kickin’. Yellin’.
- Sometimes Bengaluru wins, sometimes Kerala loses. And sometimes my grandson is happy, sometimes he’s grumbling.
- It’s all a bit much for an old woman like me, but it keeps the young folks entertained, I guess.
And that’s all I got to say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed my chickens.
